In October 2016, we successfully implemented the “3D Visualization Training System” project of Huaneng Weihai Power Generation Co., Ltd.

Huaneng Weihai Power Generation Co., Ltd. (Huaneng Weihai Power Plant) was founded in April 1991 as a key construction project of the “Ninth Five-Year Plan” of China and one of the most important power sources at the east of Shandong Peninsula. The project was conducted for the 2×680MW units of three stages, mainly covering:

(1) Establishment of a 3D visualized unit full process flow system platform, and provision of training related to process flow and anti-wear and explosion-proof;

(2) Construction of a 3D visualized expert system, enabling linkage between data, regulations and 3D scenes;

(3) The platform can be used as a basis for extending contents of other 3D visualization trainings.

This project overcame such defects of previous trainings as the non-intuitive display of the process flow and equipment structure, the inspection operation guidance or the control logic and inadequate professional training. It has elevated both training efficiency and quality. Besides, it has built an expert system knowledge base for the power plant, enriched the training methods for coaches and comprehensively improved the professional ability of the trainees.
